About EV Maui Nui

Electric vehicles have the potential to reshape the transportation sector in the United States, drastically cutting carbon emissions and clearing the way for significant climate progress.

The EV Maui was formed on July 15, 2021, to facilitate the transition to electric vehicles in Maui County through infrastructure buildout and education. We are part of the state-wide organization Hawaii EV, which is the Hawaii Chapter of the Electric Auto Association, a leading non-profit dedicated to accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles.

Membership in EV Maui is free. To join, send an email to info@mauiev.org. We meet virtually once a month for now but plan to have outdoor meetups soon. You can also follow us on Facebook.

A Key to EV Adoption

One of the key things holding back the adoption of electric vehicles in Maui County is insufficient public charging stations. In order to increase adoption, charging stations are needed in locations that are convenient for those who don’t have access to home charging, e.g. those in multi-family residential buildings, apartments, and condos. Maui Nui EV works with State and County government, property owners and the EV charging industry to improve public charging and to make it affordable, reliable and convenient for all residents and visitors to drive electric.
